Planning a wedding that truly captures the essence of a couple's personality and preferences is what makes wedding planning so rewarding. Recently, I had the pleasure of planning a Bushveld-inspired wedding for Lizanne and Jason in Pretoria, and it was nothing short of magical.
A Warm Welcome
As guests walked into the beautiful venue, Sambali, they were greeted by a thoughtfully curated welcome station. We provided branded water bottles, woven fans for the ladies, and safari hats for the men, setting the perfect tone for a Bushveld-inspired celebration.
Ceremony and Bush Bar
The ceremony was a heartfelt affair, filled with love and joy. After the ceremony, guests made their way to the bush bar, where they could relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. The live performance by Freda, a local band, added a lively touch to the atmosphere. And of course, the Aperol Spritz cocktails were a hit, refreshing and delicious on a warm day.
Unique Dessert Table
Lizanne and Jason wanted to do something different for their dessert, and this is where wedding planning gets exciting. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, we created a Greek dessert table. This included Molfoi (not Greek, but a delightful choice), Greek cookies, and delectable baklava. The couple cut the Molfoi, making it a unique and memorable moment for all.
Bushveld-Inspired Reception
The reception decor was where the Bushveld theme truly came to life. Each table was named after a tree, such as Cam de Boo, Wild Plum, or Wild Fig, reflecting the groom's love for nature. The menus and floral arrangements were also inspired by the Bushveld, creating a cohesive and enchanting ambiance. The Edison globes and woven baskets added rustic charm, while the candles provided a warm, intimate glow.
A Memorable Celebration
Every detail, from the seating chart to the decor, was meticulously planned to ensure that Lizanne and Jason's wedding was a true reflection of their personalities and their love for nature. It was a joy to see everything come together so beautifully and to witness the happiness of the newlyweds and their guests.
